DVD Player Hacks Updated Add 9 user region code comments March 31, 2015 The hack for this 3D Blu Ray player is the same as for previous models. Make sure NO disc or usb stick is inserted into the player. Turn on your your blu ray player. When the main menu appears, press the REPEAT button followed by the region code your player is currently locked to - depending on which country you are in (eg: in Australia press 'REPEAT 7 6 8 8 4'.
I was able to make my BD-D6500 region free (changed from Region 2). I pretty much followed the instructions given here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-d5500/11406#31508 But it was not necessary to press 'Eject' because it doesn't have a tray to come out. Here are the steps adapted to the BD-D6500: 1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray. 2. Switch the player off and then back on. 3. As soon as the display on the player shows 'No Disc' immediately enter REPEAT 5 7 5 3 8 with the remote. Timing is important and you might need a few tries. Code sequence depends on your current region (see below). 4. The region code '2' should appear at the top right corner of the screen (this just flashed on then off, so keep an eye on the screen) 5. Enter a '9' to make the player region free. 12. Power down and power up again. 13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change. ------------------ Codes for other regions are: 1 – 2 9 3 3 4 2 – 5 7 5 3 8 3 – 5 6 7 3 2 4 – 7 6 8 8 4 5 – 5 3 8 1 4 6 – 2 4 4 6 2 source: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-d5500/11406#31508

In the top right corner you will see your region code flash (eg: 4 for Australia). Turn off and on and your BD-E6500 is now region free. How this differs from the opening post is no need to open and close the disc tray.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So, after pressing REPEAT please enter one of the following codes the matches your current region lock: 1 – 2 9 3 3 4 (US) 2 – 5 7 5 3 8 (Europe) 3 – 5 6 7 3 2 (South East Asia) 4 – 7 6 8 8 4 (Australia / South America) 5 – 5 3 8 1 4 (India, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa) 6 – 2 4 4 6 2 (China) 9 - Region Free Then press '9' and your player is region free. Turn the player off, then on to finalise the change and play those DVD's that you have been wanting to. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After investigating, it doesn't seem that the hack above works with firmware version >= 1008. If you applied the hack with 1006, it still works if you upgrade to 1008, but you can't apply with 1008 (current version as of posting is 1012). I can confirm the following hack worked with my Samsung Bluray BD-D6500 which was purchased in Australia as a region 4 player.
Note that the firmware was the most up to date when the hack was applied on 2013-11-20, I don't recall what version exactly, but it was certainly more recent that the v1012 that some users were concerned this hack didn't work for any longer. The 'trick' to getting this to work (it took me over 20 tries) was to make sure I pressed the keys in fairly quick succession with a similar time lapse between each one. So don't press a few in quick succession and then others slowly/firmly, just press them all lightly and take the same time for each key. I used the sequence: REPEAT 7 6 8 8 4 And then '9' to make the player region free. I could see the region code '4' flash on the top corner of the screen after the first sequence, and the '9' flash after the region change.
Repeat + region code does not work on bd-f6500. It may be working on bd- d6500 and bd-e6500 but Not on bd-f6500. Has someone actually managed to get it working on BD-F6500? Don't care about other models. Repeat then 76884 and then 9 works for me with current firmware.

I didn't expect it to, but it did =:0 This hack appears to only work for existing region 4 players. There have been no reports of it working for any other region as far as I can tell. Samsung have either changed the codes for the other regions (most likely), or perhaps the remote on Australian players is slightly different. The above hack worked for my BD-F6500 Region 5, exactly as described could change to Regionfree 9. Rich The codes above work great for unlocking the DVD region, but does anyone have the code to unlock the Bluray region? My player is currently region A but my disc is region B.
I have a Samsung BD-H6500 with firmware v1107 purchased in Feb 2015. After 4 attempts at unlocking with the information here it finally worked.The region box did not appear until after the third attempt. 1 DVD Hack hits, Showing 1 to 1 DVD Hacks.
DVD Player Hacks Updated Add 3 user region code comments November 11, 2016 This device is sold in Australia as a locked region 4 DVD and region B Blue-ray player. There is no current procedure for unlocking the Blue-ray and it is probably not necessary because over 80% of released disks are region free anyway. (Just don't ever buy the other 20% and they will get the message soon enough!) To change the DVD from region 4 (Pacific/Australia) to region 9 (region free) follow these steps using the remote control.
(Adapted from for Australian conditions). Ensure that there is no disk in the tray. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the firmware. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing anything.
Press the eject button to open the tray. (The button is between the 'Power' and 'TV Power' buttons at the top of the controller.) 5. Press the eject button to close the tray. Wait while the player searches for a disk.
As soon as the 'No Disk' message appears at the top left corner do the following. Press the REPEAT button – just above the TV channel selector at the bottom right of the controller. Enter 7 6 8 8 4 on the number pad.
The region code '4' should appear at the top left corner of the screen. Enter a '9' to make the player region free. (Enter a region code if you want to lock the player to another region for some obscure or perverse reason.) 12. Power down and power up again. Norton Antivirus Serial Key.
Play a foreign DVD to verify the change. Now the tricky bits.
This process is timing dependent. Firstly, you must start entering the code just after the 'No Disk' message is shown and before the message disappears. If you jump the gun or miss the boat (isn't English great!) it won't work. Secondly, the REPEAT key is part of the code. All six keys must be entered smoothly as 'REPEAT 7 6 8 8 4'. The entry gets timed out so you can't stop in the middle and restart. Don't bash away like crazy, just do it smoothly and briskly. 3d Cracked Phone Pics more.
If you don't see the '4' the first time, don't worry. Just repeat the process. It took me about a dozen tries before I got it to work. I can't guarantee that this player does not have a region change counter so I would be a bit careful about changing regions back and forth. I also can't guarantee that this will work with all released firmware.
Samsung seems to take this crazy region bastardry very seriously for some reason. For people from other parts of the world, all region codes are as follows 1 – 2 9 3 3 4 2 – 5 7 5 3 8 3 – 5 6 7 3 2 4 – 7 6 8 8 4 5 – 5 3 8 1 4 6 – 2 4 4 6 2 I tried the above hack for more than 30 times and it does not work on my player.
I have the latest firmware ver. 1015.2 July 16 2010. Thanks Followed the instructions took about 8 tries and it worked.Thank you 1 DVD Hack hits, Showing 1 to 1 DVD Hacks.
